Shortly after my father moved to Gaborone in 2008, he was sadly diagnosed as being terminally ill with cancer and it was suggested by a friend that I contact a counsellor from CAB for two purposes, one to help my dad deal with the reality of his condition, counsel him and answer any questions he may have and the other was to help prepare my daughter, who was 13 at the time, deal with the deterioration and the inevitable loss of a grandparent that she so adored.Read more |
I have been involved with CAB from early 1996, my background is nursing, and Hospice Counselling and volunteer work with the cancer patients and their families. My role is to provide emotional support and assistance to families in the community who are dealing with all the associated problems with cancer in the home.
